Let’s go!
Tues 1 April, Weds 2 April, Thurs 3 April @10AM UK time
All on Zoom, replays available.
Is Your Freelance Life Making You Want to Hurl Your Laptop Out the Window?
Let me guess...
You're working your arse off, but your bank balance thinks you’re having a laugh
You're scrolling through other freelancers' social media, thinking "HOW are they making this work?!"
You've had at least three existential crises about whether freelancing is even for you.
Your income is more unpredictable than British weather
You're lying awake at night wondering if AI is going to steal your job
Pals, you are SO not alone in this.
I've been freelancing since 2005, and I've felt every single one of these fears and frustrations (often while eating beans on toast for dinner, again).
But here's the thing I've discovered after nearly two decades of figuring this out: the difference between struggling and absolutely smashing it as a freelancer isn't about talent - it's about mindset, strategy and confidence.
And I'm going to show you exactly how to nail all three in just 3 days.
Here's What We're Getting Into:
DAY 1: REDEFINE Your Freelance Identity
Tuesday April 1st @10am UK time
AKA: Stop calling yourself "just a freelancer" before I come over there and confiscate your laptop
Why the words you use about yourself and your business matter more than website design
How tiny shifts in how you present yourself can have clients suddenly taking you seriously
How to stop saying all the things that keep us small
DAY 2: REIMAGINE Your Money Mindset
Wednesday April 2nd @10am UK time
Why you need to stop apologising for wanting to charge more right this minute
The money myths keeping you in the financial playground when you should be in the premier league
How to spot when your brain is telling you absolute nonsense about what you're allowed to charge
Reframing the limiting beliefs that hold you back from financial success.
DAY 3: Build RESILIENCE Because Freelancing Is a Bit of a Rollercoaster
Thursday April 3rd @10am UK time
How to weather whatever the freelance gods throw at you - economic downturns, AI takeovers, difficult clients, the lot
Why uncertainty is actually your secret weapon as a freelancer (not terrifying at all, promise)
The essential pillars that make your business adaptable to literally anything
How to look at challenges without hiding under the duvet

All so thought-provoking, thankyou Priya!
Mandy
Honestly, this has really made me see my freelancing differently - I can already see what I could change this week to make it feel better.
Sue
Priya is very generous with her time and knowledge - and what she’s shared this week has been amazing.
Kate
Ooh I loved this challenge! The one on money especially really hit home and I’m planning on increasing my rates right now.
Sarah
I loved every bit of this challenge - it pulled me out of the freelancing funk I’d been in. I especially liked the part about building a freelance community; I would love more support and people to brainstorm with.
about your host, Priya Joi
I'm a science writer, published author - my book M(other)land was published by Penguin Random House - and freelance coach who's been riding the freelance rollercoaster on and off since 2005.
I've lived every freelance nightmare imaginable - from working until 3AM on Christmas Eve for a client (while at my parents' house, on their rickety old computer), to being too terrified to raise my rates, to feeling physically sick every time I tried to post about my work online.
But I've also built a freelance business that gives me the freedom to work in my pyjamas, earn a proper income, and actually take holidays without my laptop (revolutionary, I know).
The methods I'll share in this challenge aren't theoretical professor-type waffle – they're the exact approaches I've used to transform my own freelance life and help hundreds of other women do the same.
